Happy New Year Fellow Republicans!

As I close out this term at the RNC, serving as your National Committee Women representing the U.S. Virgin Islands, I want to thank you for this opportunity - it has been a true honor.

Over the past four years, I have been dedicated to rebuilding the Republican Party locally, and I am immensely proud of our accomplishments. Establishing the U.S. Virgin Islands Republican Women's Club and serving on the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights for the U.S. Virgin Islands have been significant milestones for me. Simultaneously, on a national level, I have actively contributed to the Election Integrity Committee and the Faith-Based Engagement Committee at the RNC, forging connections with Republicans nationwide to raise funds and address concerns of the US Virgin Islanders.

It is important to note that I have personally financed all my efforts, as the current party leadership has favored outsiders from Michigan.

With this in mind, I hereby announce my candidacy for re-election for National Committeewoman in the caucus on Tuesday, February 8th, 2024.

My primary objective remains the continued growth and revitalization of the Republican Party across all three Virgin Islands.

There are many challenges that we are facing here on the Islands, and with a solid Republican Party -  I believe we can tackle these issues:

  • High Electricity Bills

  • Wapa Water contamination issues

  • No Republicans Senators or Members are on the Board of Education

  • Lack of Representation in Congress (An Issue I’m Currently Addressing)

  • Donor Class that Promote Outsiders instead of the Virgin Islands.

Don’t let anyone fool you, our party is still in turmoil.

For far too long, external groups have exerted unwarranted influence over our local Republican Political Party. It is disheartening to learn that my opponent claims to have raised over $150,000, with the majority of the funds coming from the Presidential Candidates themselves, not from genuine fundraisers. Furthermore, the amount raised was less than 4% of what she claims to have raised. We must put an end to the corruption and outside influence that threaten to control our local party.

Despite the challenges, we have achieved significant victories over the past two years. Through extensive voter registration efforts and adept handling of legal battles, we have persevered in our mission. I am thrilled by the prospect of continuing to serve the people of the U.S. Virgin Islands.

With that said, I am asking for your vote to re-elect me as your National Committeewoman representing you at the RNC.

I would love for you to reach out to me to share your concerns and ideas for a better US Virgin Islands.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Antoinette Gumbs Hecht
